Do I pay up front or when the work is done?

There are two separate payments. When you book, you pay Service Handz a connection fee — that covers platform access, matching, scheduling, and provider verification.The cost of the work itself is settled directly with your provider and is not collected by Service Handz. For emergency jobs, the baseline price shown when you book covers labor only — parts and materials are arranged with your provider.

How do I become a provider on Service Handz?

Create an account, then submit your service through the provider portal. You'll tell us what you do, your rate, how long a typical job takes, and the zip codes you cover.Every submission is reviewed before it goes live. Before you can take bookings we may run a background check and verify your licensing, insurance, and payment details. You'll hear back by email either way — and if we can't approve a listing, we'll tell you why so you can fix it and resubmit.

How do providers get paid?

You're paid by the client for the work you do. Service Handz doesn't take a cut of your labor — the fee we collect is a separate connection fee paid by the client for using the platform.Pricing, invoicing, and payment terms for the job itself are agreed directly between you and the client.

What if I need help right away?

Use emergency booking. Rather than waiting on a quote, common emergency jobs are priced from a published baseline rate so we can dispatch a verified pro straight away — providers are never sent out just to come and give you a number.Baseline emergency prices cover labor only. Parts and materials are separate and arranged with your provider.If your situation isn't a standard job and can't be priced up front, we apply an Emergency Inspection Rate. A pro comes out as soon as possible, assesses what's actually needed, and gives you the full cost before any repair work begins. That rate covers the visit itself, not the repair.

Before a provider can take bookings on Service Handz, we may run a background check and verify their licensing, insurance, and payment methods.These checks confirm that a provider is eligible to use the platform. They aren't a supervision arrangement, an endorsement, or a guarantee of anyone's work — providers are independent contractors, and we'd still encourage you to ask questions and satisfy yourself that a pro is right for your job.After a job you can rate your provider, which helps the next customer choose.
